Wang Ren, deputy secretary general of the Plastics Recycling Branch of China Synthetic Resin Association, recently communicated with equipment and processing companies in the recycled PET industry, including Zhejiang Huafei, Jiangsu Grace and Beijing Yingchuang, to deal with PET beverage bottle technology. The challenges and problems faced in the summary are summarized in three main points:

One is the label and bottle design issues.

PET bottles on the market vary in color and shape, and their purpose is to win the eye. If the color of the bottle can be standardized, such as blue-white or light green, the industry designs accordingly, the bottle’s back-end processing and downstream The recycling of bottle flakes in the textile industry will be greatly facilitated. In addition, at present, 70% of the labels of domestic beverage bottles are made of PVC. Other materials include PP and PET. PVC labels will sink to the bottom during the cleaning process, which will cause difficulties in handling and separation. The different adhesives and different viscosities of the labels will cause troubles in the back end processing.

The second problem is the oil bottle problem.

At present, the bottle received by the enterprise contains about 10% edible oil bottle. The treatment of the oil bottle is relatively complicated, and the disposal cost of the water treatment is relatively high. If the oil and water bottles can be separated by design, it will bring great benefits to the back-end processing.

The main difficulty is the uniform color, the darker bottle caps will be narrower downstream, and the back-end recycling companies are currently sorting the caps by sorting equipment.
